It’s always nice for a wedding to have that personal touch and with the average cost of flowers for typical nuptials coming in at around £1,200 according to the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners, wouldn’t it be nice to do your own?
If you are super-confident and have some experience in floristry, perhaps through an evening class or a day-course – take a look on-line – you may be brave enough to attempt your own bouquet.
But even if your creative skills are limited, with the right choice of flowers, foliage and clever containers, there’s lots you can do to create a memorable wedding in full bloom
Be realistic about your time and skills and the availability of willing and confident helpers. Keep it simple. It’s a great idea to practice bouquets and arrangements well ahead of the big day and time how long it takes to make certain pieces. Remember, you’ll need transport and a cool, shady place for storage. Plunge the stems into water as soon as possible, leaving plenty to snip off and arrange either the day before or on the morning of the wedding.
Don’t stick with just one colour, it will look dull on the photographs. If your theme is pink for instance, try out combinations of deeper and lighter shades together with touches of yellow, blue or white. Or create a contrast. A colour wheel will help you find 'opposites' of your main colour choice to provide pleasing accents. And use different shapes and sizes.
We can pick the best blooms and condition them overnight for you.
